Qualification Outline:

Certificate II in Security Operations reflects the role of a security officer responsible for maintaining safety and security by patrolling, protecting or guarding property while unarmed, as well as screening entry, monitoring behaviour, and removing individuals from premises. This Security Guard Operations Certification aligns with the occupational licensing outcomes of an unarmed guard or crowd control security officer.

Licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication. Successful completion of this Security Operations Training provides the necessary competencies to apply to Victoria Police Licensing and Regulation Division for a Private Security Individual Licence for the categories of Crowd Controller and Unarmed Guard.

Admission

This course is available to students who are able to provide evidence that they:

  • have satisfactory numeracy and literacy
  • are over the age of 18
  • Be a fit and proper person. This includes not having any medical condition or
    history with police that would hinder your employment within the industry
  • Have no records of conviction of a disqualifying offence within the previous 10 years

Condition of Entry:

For international students: it is a condition of entry that upon acceptance,
students provide evidence of having an Australian Student Visa (subclass 500).
