Frequently Asked Questions

You can apply online or in person. The online form takes about ten minutes and includes the Language, Literacy and Numeracy check, so there is nothing separate to book. Applying in person means downloading the application form and bringing it to either Melbourne campus with your documents. Either way the process runs through seven steps across three phases — application, acceptance, and entry into Australia for international students. Start an application or read the full step-by-step process.
Six things cover most applications: the photo page of your passport, your academic transcripts and certificates, evidence of English proficiency, a Statement of Purpose, and proof of funds if your visa subclass requires it — plus any additional supporting documents for your particular course. If something is missing you will still receive a conditional letter of offer, so it is worth applying rather than waiting until every document is in hand.
All of our qualifications are delivered on campus — we do not currently run any course fully online. How much of it is classroom-based varies: some are face-to-face throughout, some are blended with self-paced components between sessions, and others include kitchen practicals or a workplace placement. The delivery mode is listed on every course page under Delivery, so you can check before you apply.

Yes. If you already have skills and experience that match a qualification, RPL can shorten how much of it you need to study. Fees are listed on each course page with separate domestic and international rates, and they are an indicative guide — the figure at enrolment depends on your situation, any credit you bring, and your intake. Several of our short courses, including the first aid and security units, can be booked and paid for online in one step. For the longer qualifications, talk to an advisor about a quote and about spreading payments across the course.
