Qualification overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in security industry roles at the operational level in the Northern Territory. It covers crowd control, static guarding, patrol, alarm response and basic security operations. Completion supports licensing under Northern Territory security industry requirements.

ALIT’s CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations in Alice Springs is an 18-day blended program. It combines one live online class, online self-study and three face-to-face practical days in Alice Springs, with the First Aid component (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid) included. Students must complete the required learning and assessments and demonstrate competency to achieve the qualification. Practical training is held at the Chamber of Commerce, Shop 5/36 Alice Plaza, Todd Mall, Alice Springs NT 0870, and ALIT will notify students in advance if the venue changes.

Getting in

Entry requirements

  1. 1Must be 18 years of age or older
  2. 2Satisfactory completion of Australian Year 10 or equivalent
  3. 3Complete ALIT’s enrolment and suitability review, including the LLND assessment
  4. 4Meet the applicable eligibility requirements for your circumstances, including visa-related checks where relevant
Enrolment and licensing are separate.ALIT reviews your language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills (LLND) to assess course suitability and support needs before confirming enrolment. Domestic students and other visa holders may apply, subject to eligibility checks before enrolment. Criminal-history and other licensing matters are assessed separately by Licensing NT.
