Minimum Age: 18 years
Be an Australian/New Zealand citizen or permanent Australian resident or holds : A visa sponsored
by a Master security licence holder, or a visa for a skilled occupation that corresponds to the activities authorised by the proposed licence.
Pre-Enrolment Assessments: Complete SLED Pre-Enrolment Assessment and literacy/numeracy assessments.
Valid ID: Provide valid identification (e.g., driver’s license, passport).
Police Declaration: Sign the NSW police P1016 declaration.
Work Rights: Must have full Australian work rights.
First Aid: HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (available through ALIT if required).
Physical and Legal Fitness: Must meet fitness and “fit and proper” person criteria for licensing.

Licensing Requirements– New South Wales
- Completion of this course is mandatory for obtaining a Class 1 Security Licence in NSW.
- Training must be completed within NSW, as it includes SLED-specific assessments.
No RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning):
This course does not accept RPL, though individuals with prior industry experience may be assessed through the Assessment-Only Pathway (with prior SLED approval).
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
ALIT Education Group (RTO 45156) delivers CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations in both Victoria and New South Wales.
Prospective students who intend to apply for a security licence in New South Wales should be aware that completion of a Victorian-based course does not satisfy NSW security licensing requirements.
To be eligible for a NSW security licence, all applicants must attend and complete the approved NSW Security Licence Course at ALIT’s Auburn (NSW) campus, delivered in New South Wales by ALIT as a provider approved by the NSW Police Force Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED).
A qualification completed with ALIT in Victoria is a nationally accredited qualification, but it is not accepted by SLED as meeting the NSW course-delivery requirement.
If you intend to work in security in New South Wales, you should enrol in the NSW Security Licence Course delivered at ALIT’s Auburn (NSW) campus, in accordance with SLED requirements.
