WHEN YOU FINISH

Certificates and Statements of Attainment

When you finish, you get the document that proves it. This page explains what has to be
complete first, how long it takes, and what to do if you lose it.

Version 2.0 · Effective 1 July 2026 · Review 1 July 2027

What you receive

DocumentWhen you receive it
Qualification (testamur)When you are assessed Competent in all units required for the full qualification
Statement of AttainmentWhen you complete one or more units but not the full qualification — including if you withdraw partway through

Both are issued in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework and are nationally recognised
across Australia.

What has to be complete first

  • All required units assessed Competent, with the assessment evidence complete
  • Your USI verified — we cannot issue without it
  • Your fees cleared — any outstanding amount settled
  • The qualification code and title verified against the training package
  • An authorised signatory has approved issuance

How long it takes

Generally within 30 calendar days of you meeting all requirements, including cleared fees. In
practice most documents issue sooner. If anything is holding yours up, we tell you what it is and what you
need to do.

Replacement documents

Lost, damaged or destroyed your certificate? We can issue a replacement. Email
admission@alit.edu.au with your full name, date of birth, the
course and the approximate year you completed. We verify your identity and your record, then issue the
replacement within 10 working days. Every replacement is recorded.

Replacement fee: AUD $50, plus postage.

You can also view and download your own nationally recognised training record at any time through your USI
account at usi.gov.au — this is often faster than requesting a
replacement, and it is accepted by most employers.

If your name has changed

Contact Student Services with evidence of the change before your certificate is issued, so the document is
correct the first time. If it has already issued, a replacement can be arranged.

If you think there is an error

Tell us immediately and we will correct it. If you disagree with a decision about your certification
— including a decision not to issue — you may appeal under
Complaints and appeals, free of charge.
