To enrol in ALIT’s CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations in Alice Springs, you must be at least 18 and have completed Australian Year 10 or equivalent. ALIT also reviews your course suitability and language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills before confirming enrolment. Domestic students and other visa holders may apply, subject to eligibility.

The national CPP20218 qualification listing states that there are no qualification entry requirements; a provider’s admission process is a separate matter. If you studied overseas, ask ALIT what evidence it needs to consider your education as equivalent.
What the LLND assessment covers
LLND means language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills. These skills matter when reading instructions, communicating about incidents, working with information and using online learning materials.
ALIT reviews your results to assess course suitability and any support needed before confirming enrolment. If you are concerned about reading, writing, numbers or using a computer, discuss this during the enrolment process. Support needs should be considered before you begin.
Visa holders and course eligibility
Other visa holders may apply, subject to eligibility checks. Do not assume that holding a visa automatically permits enrolment in this particular course. ALIT will check your circumstances before confirming your place. Permission to study and permission to work are separate matters.
Enrolment and security licensing are separate
You do not need to already hold an NT security licence to enrol. ALIT does not require criminal-history clearance as a course admission condition. Licensing NT assesses criminal-history and other licensing matters when you apply for a licence.
If your goal is licensed security work, check any eligibility concerns with Licensing NT before committing to the course. Admission to ALIT and successful completion do not guarantee a licence.
What you need to attend
The course runs over 18 days and combines one live online class, online self-study and three face-to-face practical days, including First Aid. Plan for all parts of the program. Ask ALIT about the timetable and suitable device and internet access for online learning.
Practical training is held at the advertised Chamber of Commerce venue, Shop 5/36 Alice Plaza, Todd Mall, Alice Springs NT 0870. ALIT will notify students in advance if the venue changes. Discuss any access or learning support needs before enrolment.

- Provide the requested enrolment information and education evidence, and complete the LLND assessment and suitability review.
- Review your offer, timetable, fees and payment terms before confirming your enrolment.
The total fee is $1,600, including First Aid: $1,400 tuition and $200 enrolment and materials. NT students can pay $800 before commencement and $800 after training begins. Payment due dates are provided in the enrolment documents.
