What to Check Before You Enrol
Before you pay anything, you should be able to answer every question on this page. If
you cannot, ask us — and if an answer you are given does not match what is published here or on the
course page, tell us.
You will be asked to sign a Pre-Enrolment Information Acknowledgement
confirming you received this information. That is not a formality to rush past — it is your record that
you were told, and ours that we told you.
The checklist
| Check | What you should know before paying |
|---|---|
| The course | Its national code and full title. Whether it is a nationally recognised qualification, a skill set, or a single unit — they are not the same thing. |
| What it costs | The total amount, what it includes, what it does not, and the payment terms. Published fees match ALIT’s approved fee schedule — if a figure you are quoted differs from the course page, ask why before paying. |
| Fees paid to others | Licence, fingerprinting or third-party certification fees are paid to that authority, not to ALIT, and are not part of your course fee. |
| How long it takes | The duration, the timetable, and the amount of study expected outside class. |
| How it is delivered | On campus, online, blended or in a workplace — and which parts must be attended in person. |
| Where | The delivery location or locations. |
| Entry requirements | Age, language, literacy and numeracy, prior qualifications, clearances — and whether an external authority sets any of them rather than ALIT. |
| Attendance | Whether your course has mandatory hours you must complete, or is monitored on course progress. See Enrolment. |
| Work placement | Whether your course includes placement, how many hours, and what clearances you need. See Work placement. |
| Equipment and materials | What ALIT provides and what you need to bring or buy — including any device or internet requirements for online components. |
| What it leads to | What the qualification is and is not. Where a course supports a licence, completing the course may satisfy the relevant training requirement for an application. The licensing authority determines whether you meet all licensing requirements, and course completion does not guarantee that a licence will be issued. |
| Assessment | How you will be assessed, and your reassessment entitlements. See Assessment. |
| Credit for what you know | Whether RPL or credit transfer could reduce what you need to complete. See RPL and credit transfer. |
| Support | What academic, language and wellbeing support is available, and how reasonable adjustment works. See Student support. |
| Your USI | You need one. It is free, and we cannot issue your certificate without it. |
| Refunds | What you get back if you withdraw, and when. See Fees, refunds and cancellations. |
| Complaints | How to complain or appeal, free of charge, and the external options available. See Complaints and appeals. |
| Third-party delivery | If any part of your training or assessment is delivered by another organisation on ALIT’s behalf, you must be told before you enrol. |
| Your written agreement | You receive and sign a Student Agreement before any tuition fee is collected. Read it and keep your copy. |

What we promise about our information
- Our marketing accurately represents what we actually deliver — code, title, duration, mode,
locations, entry requirements, fees and assessment. - We do not guarantee employment, migration outcomes, or a guaranteed accelerated pathway.
Accelerated study is assessed individually, never offered as a default. - Every piece of marketing material is approved and version-controlled before publication, and audited at
least annually and whenever a course detail or fee changes. - Agent material is approved by ALIT before it is used.
If something does not match, tell us. If an advertisement, an agent, or a staff member tells you
something different from what is published here or on the course page, contact
info@alit.edu.au or

correct.
Common questions
What should I check before enrolling in a course?
The course code and title, total fees and what they include, any fees paid to other organisations, duration, delivery mode and location, entry requirements, attendance requirements, work placement, equipment needed, what the qualification leads to, assessment methods, RPL options, support available, your USI, refund rights and how to complain.
Does ALIT guarantee a job after the course?
No. ALIT does not guarantee employment, migration outcomes or a guaranteed accelerated pathway. Where a course supports a licence, completing it may satisfy the relevant training requirement for an application. The licensing authority determines whether you meet all licensing requirements, and course completion does not guarantee that a licence will be issued.
